Welcome to the SOUTHWEST LIFE MAGAZINE web site.
Here we are ... In the Great American Southwest! This is our new web site. It will be growing as time and material permits. Please return soon. October 26, 2001, a beginning.
We are seeking material for this site. This includes news and comments from anywhere in the southwest, on any subject - politics, art, lifestyles, etc. Just email us with your proposal.
We are also seeking businesses to advertise on the site. Initially, if you can keep it fairly simple, and quite short, it won't cost you anything. Later, after we build the site a bit, yes, the advertising space will be for sale, and will no longer be free. But for now, send us your ideas, preferably with a photo, or of original art work, but that isn't necessary. Have a restaurant? Send us a copy of your menu, a photo of it, if possible, and date it so we know when the prices were effective. Include information about the place, the history, owners, clientele, etc. If I can, I'll put it on the site, and I'll let you know when we will start charging. Before I do, I'll remove it, and allow you an opportunity to advertise it at our then-current rates.
Any business (that is legitimate business!!) in the southwest is welcome to submit advertising material. We also seek input from artists, craftspersons, writers, just about anyone who has something that relates to the American Southwest! Give it a try - doesn't hurt to ask! Yes, even realtors, car dealers, mobile home dealers, repair shops, art galleries, hotels and motels,
We would be most happy to publish news stories or travel or tourism tips, from and about the Southwest. That is generally accepted to be West Texas through the eastern part of southern California, plus Nevada, western Oklahoma, southern Colorado and southern Utah, and, of course, New Mexico and Arizona. However, items relating to surrounding areas may be of interest, so submit them to our email address and give it a try!
If you are a photographer, maybe I can put some of your photos on this site, to help spread the word about your work. Just ask and we'll look into it. But for the time being, we can't pay. You just get exposure.
We are NOT paying for any material! I won't say we will never do that, as, like any magazine, we may eventually be able to do so, for stories and other things. But at least for now, that isn't going to happen.
If it's southwest, we want it -- Including Mexican and Indian photos, arts, pictures, handcrafts, news, etc.
Yes, we hope to also be able to market merchandise on this site, and if you have original merchandise you would like to submit, again, email us with an inquiry.
Thanks, and watch the site grow.
Note, too, if this site outgrows the space allocations at Fortune City, we will initially divide it into another site on AT&T Worldnet, but may move to dedicated hosting if required. For now, this will be an excellent place to be!
Thanks
